A bit of history

We built our first café with £5,000 in 2015. In December 2018 we ran a Crowdfund London campaign and raised an incredible £100k, including a £50k backing from the Mayor of London.

Like a typical episode of Grand Designs, our construction project ended up being much more complex and expensive than we had originally planned and we experienced significant delays because of Covid. However, we didn’t let that stop us, and we began operating a community Grub Club in late 2020, serving freshly made food from primarily surplus food which was donated to us. Alongside this, we served delicious cakes and hot and cold drinks.

In 2021, we finally opened our new café space and are delighted to be back open to the public.
