Little Critters

Stay ‘n’ Play

Fridays at Our Yard

10:00 - 12:00

Little Critters is our weekly outdoor stay-and-play session designed for babies, toddlers, and their grown ups.

Set in the garden and wider Farm space, the session offers a calm, open environment where young children (under 5) can explore at their own pace and families can enjoy time outdoors together.

Man and children painting and playing with toys outside on a blue tarp. The kids are dressed in colorful raincoats and a hat, with boxes and containers of paint and toys around them.
Three children dressed in rain gear playing at a muddy outdoor play kitchen set with a man nearby, surrounded by fallen autumn leaves.

What to expect

Each week includes a changing mix of simple, hands‑on activities using natural and everyday materials. You might find water play, digging, scooping, mud kitchens, sensory trays, and small opportunities to wander through the garden or spot what’s growing. Children lead their own play, and adults can support, observe, or simply enjoy being outside, though we always have a craft table inside and a singing session too.

Little Critters is low‑pressure: come when you can, stay as long as you like within the session time, and bring clothing that can get a bit messy. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, and it’s a welcoming place for families who want a gentle, community‑minded activity at the end of the week.

The session is facilitated by Jenny Lawy, a member of the Farm team since 2019 who founded Little Critters after volunteering in the garden. She ensures the space is safe, open, and engaging, but the focus remains on child‑led exploration rather than overly-structured activity.

Little Critters runs every Friday at Our Yard during term time.
Booking is not required
